The Maud Lewis Needlepoint Collection

The Maud Lewis Needlepoint Collection is a selection of impressions licensed from the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. The images chosen are a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Maude Lewis (1903-1970). The Maud Lewis collection of Needlepoint Cushion Covers has been faithfully reproduced by artisans using time honoured traditional hand craftsmanship. Skilfully blending needlepoint backgrounds to capture the spirit of Maud Lewis through the enrichment of petite point accents.

CONSTRUCTION: Each Maud Lewis needlepoint cushion design is crafted of 100% wool yarns dye fast for lasting beauty, valour backing complete with zippered closures. Cushions maybe ordered as cushion covers only or cushion cover complete with filling.

Vincent van Gogh's "Iris" painted 1889 part of the National Gallery of Canada Collection. Origional painting "Iris" is oil on thinned carboard, mounted on canvas 62.2 X 48.3 cm aquired by the the National Gallery of Canada in 1954. "Iris" has been reproduced as a Needlepoint Cushion, hand crafted in a combination of Needlepoint 10-15 stitches per inch and Petit point at 20-25 stittches per inch. Dye fast wool yarns, valour backing with zipper closure. Demisions 30 X 40cm, (12" X 16") Dry clean.

Tom Tompson's "Jack Pine" 1914-1916, origional oil on canvas 127.9 X 139.8 cm aquired by the National Gallery of Canada in 1918 and is part of the Group of Seven Collection. "Jack Pine" has been reproduced as a Needlepoint Cushion, hand crafted in a combination of Needlepoint 10-15 stitches per inch and Petit point at 20-25 stittches per inch. Dye fast wool yarns, valour backing with zipper closure. Demisions 33 X 40cm, (13" X 16") Dry clean.
